Jeśli miałabym do czegoś porównywać pilates to bardziej do kalisteniki niż do jogi 🙂

Czyli mięśnie głębokie naszego ciała i poprawiają siłę, równowagę, elastyczność i postawę. Inne ich podobieństwo? Połączenie umysł-ciało — obie formy ćwiczeń zwiększają świadomość ciała i oddechu, aby utrzymać cię silnym i skupionym.

Słynne słowa Josepha Pilatesa to : „Po 10 sessions you will feel the difference, po 20 zobaczysz różnicę, a po 30 będziesz mieć zupełnie nowe ciało”.

Pilates on machines

Pilates on machines

In Poland, pilates is associated with mat exercises. However, in our Studio you also have the opportunity to try out the method pilates on machines. Reformer, The barrel is small and large, A chair or a Cadillac are equipment, which was already created by Joseph Pilates himself, to help their students to get in shape or, in the case of dancers, to recover from specific injuries and strengthen the body.

At Ach Studio, in addition to mats, we also use machines for each individual Pilates training, which thanks to many options help you understand, feel the movement and tension of the corresponding muscles in the body.

What is a reformer?

The reformer is hardware, which is the most popular. It is a bed with a movable wheelchair attached on springs. The springs can be stronger or lighter in one exercise, depending on what effect we want to achieve. They can both make our work easier and more difficult. Thanks to that, that they are regulated, Everyone can exercise on the refomer, regardless of age or condition.

Despite this, that the reformer is commonly called the bed, we do exercises on it not only while lying down. You can practice in any pose: lying down, kneeling down, sitting or even standing. During training, we practice according to established patterns, however, we can modify each exercise depending on your needs. Thanks to so many modifications, we are able to work on every part of the body.

We can practice slowly, smoothly but also dynamically. You learn here, that every tension and every movement in the body is of great importance and also translates into the effect and goal you want to achieve.

Another piece of equipment, which at first glance seems quite inconspicuous is the chair. The chair is a small platform with two pedals that can be used together or separately. The pedals are also attached to springs, so as in the reformer, Shell we, make your work easier or more difficult. A chair with difficult equipment, because it doesn't have any extra handles. Means, that when we work alone, we must maintain balance and body control. We exercise mainly sitting or standing, although there are also exercises where we can lie on a chair. The chair will be people's favorite equipment, who dream of beautiful, muscular legs and buttocks as well as the belly.

The other equipment is…

Barrels are also available in our studio – small and large. They are mainly used to stretch the body as well as lengthen and mobilize the spine. Exercise, which we make on a large barrel seem quite simple, but as already known, any simple Pilates exercise can prove difficult, and clients admit it when they come to trainings. Conscious stretching and lengthening the body is an amazing discovery for people exercising with us. After a series of exercises on barrels, clients leave the classes erect and relaxed at the same time.

In Ach Studio we also have a tower at our disposal, which is part of the classic Cadillac. It is sufficient, to work on every muscle group in the body. We also work on the tower thanks to the springs. We attach straps to them, handles or a bar, which you then work with. In our studio you will have the opportunity soon, to practice on machines in small groups under the supervision of our qualified instructors. Stay tuned for news on our social media.

Your first Pilates class

You can be sure during individual pilates training, that all attention is focused only on you.

Your first Pilates class is the most important, both for us as instructors and for you practitioners.

The first Pilates class is different from the next. Here we get to know your strengths and weaknesses. We check how your body works and reacts to given stimuli. What control do you have over it and what we need to work on.

During the first individual training, we teach you the correct body positioning, breathing and new movement patterns. We show you how your body works and what muscles we need to strengthen and stabilize, to increase your quality of life. Often, the first visit is preceded by a visit to our physiotherapist. We especially recommend this solution, when you know, that you have serious back problems or pain, and you care about it, to exercise and take care of your health with movement.

When you visit our studio for the first time, you get a questionnaire to complete, where please write about your current health condition, as well as defining the training goal to which we will strive. Each of our pupils has a different goal. One dreams of strong legs and going to the mountains, and the other is about spending the day sitting without back pain.

We usually start training with learning basic exercises on the mat and “safety rules” at work with your body. Then we switch to the machines, which, with various exercises, facilitate or hinder movement. Equipment such as the reformer and chair operate on springs, the strength of which we can increase and decrease depending on your current condition. Each device and each movement is individually matched to your needs and skills.

Thanks to the possibility of adjusting the load and individualising the exercises, on pilates anyone can come, regardless of age or condition. So in case you are wondering, are pilates classes for you, then we have a simple answer.
